                                      About the Artist

I've been interested in photography since I was a kid.  When I was 10 or 11, I begged for (and received for my birthday) my first camera - a Kodak Pocket Instamatic.  I've been clicking away ever since.

In March 2007, I finally listened to friends and family who suggested that I try to sell some of my photographs.  Whatever happens with that, I'll always be fascinated with seeing the world through a lens and working with digital photo art.

I earned a B.A. in Advertising, School of Journalism, from Pennsylvania State University with a concentration in creative writing in 1984, and I earned a M.Ed. in Reading Education from North Carolina State University in 2002.

In my 'real' job, I'm a reading specialist and reading resource teacher living in North Carolina with my two great kids and my two great dogs.  I'm also a member of the Sappony tribe.

                                                                     About the Photography

Most of the early images on this site were taken with a Konica-Minolta Maxxum 5D digital SLR camera.  Later images were taken with a Nikon D300 digital SLR.  Most images were hand held.

This site is my main showcase for my artwork. When you click on the 'purchase info' links below each piece, you will be linked to my Shutterfly site.  Shutterfly takes care of orders, payments, shipping, handling and customer service.  In setting up my Shutterfly 'storefront' site, I have ordered a number of products as quality checks to ensure that my customers get top quality.

I use a variety of photo editing software, with the main one being Corel's Paint Shop Pro XI.  I also use Adobe, Picasa2, Jasc's Paint Shop Photo Album, and Shutterfly's free software.

This is all very much a learning process for me - an extremely enjoyable learning process! - as I am still new to all of this.  I just go where the art takes me.
